Armored vehicle M3A1 Tamiya-35363

Description

The M3 was an armored vehicle manufactured by the “White Motor” company for the United States during World War II.

The M3A1 weighed about 5.5 tonsand had a maximum armor of 13mm, open roof, Hercules JXD engine of 6 cylinders in line and 100 hp that allowed it to reach maximum speeds close to 80 km/h on the road. Its armament consisted of a Browning M1919 7.62 mm caliber heavy machine gun.

Under the lend-lease policy approved by the US Congress at the beginning of World War II, numerous M3A1 vehicles were delivered to the Soviet Union, which used them extensively throughout the war as reconnaissance vehicles or to tow the 76mm Zis-3 anti-tank gun.

The Tamiya kit includes a crew of 4 Red Army soldiers plus another figure that reproduces the driver of the vehicle.
