This incredible Italeri model reproduces a Schnellboot S-38. This ship was a type of speedboat used by the German Navy during World War II. It was designed to be a fast and lethal vessel capable of high speeds and maneuverability.

Built by the Lürssen company, the Schnellboot S-38 could sail at a maximum speed of 44 knots, with a range of 700 nautical miles at a cruising speed of 30 knots. It was armed with torpedoes and cannons, and was known for its ability to attack allied ships on reconnaissance and combat missions at sea. She often operated on missions in the English Channel, the North Sea and the Mediterranean.

The Schnellboot S-38 was withdrawn from service after the war and some of them were used by the Italian Navy until the 1960s.
