The M109 is a self-propelled artillery gun introduced by the U.S. Army in the early 1960s. The idea of this vehicle is to provide indirect fire cover for armored or infantry units.
The Israeli M109 was used in the 1970s in the war against Egypt and later in the 1982 and 2006 incursions into Lebanon.
