In 1940, the German company Vomag 7 was asked by the army to build a heavy anti-aircraft vehicle capable of carrying the famous 88mm Flak 36 on its chassis.
This peculiar vehicle was of the utmost importance because its mission was to be part of the defense unit and escort of the German head of state (Adolf Hitler) when he moved to the front.
The Vomag 7 was a heavy triple-axle truck capable of carrying loads in excess of 9,000 kg.
The special division for the defense of the Führer (“Führerbegleit – Flakabteilung”) received 20 of these vehicles.
