Description

The Spartan army was a feared and respected military force in ancient Greece. The Spartans focused on physical training and discipline, and became some of the best soldiers in the ancient world. Men serving in the Spartan army were known as hoplites and wore heavy armor, which included a helmet, breastplate and greaves. They also used the 2.5 meter spear, the short sword and the shield.

Discipline and intensive training made the Spartan army a formidable force on the battlefield, and its legacy has endured to this day.
