Description

The Wespe (in its official designation Sd.Kfz 124), whose literal translation into English would be “wasp”, was a German self-propelled artillery vehicle of World War II.

The Wespe was a design of the Berlin-based armament company “Alkett”, which used the chassis of the Panzer II, which had become obsolete after the first campaigns of the war, was lengthened in order to put the engine in the front part and on which was mounted a cannon of the same type as the Panzer I. The Wespe was designed by the Berlin-based armament company “Alkett”. FH 18 105 mm.

The Wespe weighed 11 tons, had a maximum armor thickness of 30mm, 140hp Maybach HL 62 TRM engine and a top road speed of 40 km/h.

About 650 Wespe were built throughout the war and distributed to all fronts, the one reproduced in this Tamiya model corresponds to the Italian campaign (1943). The kit includes 4 figures.
