The
Sd. Kfz. 234/2 ‘Puma’. was an armored reconnaissance vehicle used by the Wehrmacht during World War II.
Designed as part of the series of vehicles Sd. Kfz. 234, the ‘Puma’ stood out for its maneuverability and firepower.
Equipped with a 50 mm KwK 39/1 L/60 cannon, the ‘Puma’ could engage other light armored vehicles and provide fire support on reconnaissance missions.
The development of the Sd. Kfz. 234 began in 1940, and the ‘Puma’ model went into production in 1943.
Manufactured by Büssing-NAG, the vehicle had an air-cooled 12-cylinder Tatra engine that allowed it to reach a top speed of 85 km/h on the road.
Its eight-wheeled design gave it excellent mobility in both urban and rural terrain, and it was armored up to 30 mm thick at the front.
The ‘Puma’ was deployed on several battle fronts, excelling in the western theater.
