The Sd.Kfz. 234/2 “Puma” was a German armored reconnaissance vehicle used during World War II. It was part of the series Sd.Kfz. 234 and is known for its speed, maneuverability and powerful armament. Equipped with a 5 cm KwK 39 cannon, the “Puma” could engage light armored vehicles and provide fire support to infantry.

The “Puma” was characterized by its advanced design, which included eight-wheel drive and an air-cooled 12-cylinder Tatra engine, allowing it to reach speeds of up to 90 km/h (56 mph). Its armor was light, which facilitated its speed and agility on the battlefield.

Developed in 1943, the Sd.Kfz. 234/2 entered service in 1944 and was used mainly on the Western Front. Although its production was limited, with only about 101 units produced, the “Puma” left a lasting impression for its ability to perform reconnaissance missions in difficult terrain and its combat effectiveness.
