The Raupenschlepper Ost RSO/01 was a German tracked transport vehicle developed during World War II to operate effectively in the harsh conditions of the eastern front. Designed by Steyr, its simple and robust construction included an enclosed wooden cab and a front engine. Thanks to its wide tracks, the RSO offered excellent mobility in mud, snow or difficult terrain where other vehicles were stuck. It was mainly used for transporting supplies, light artillery and evacuating wounded. Armed versions also existed, such as the RSO with a Pak 40 anti-tank gun. It was highly valued for its reliability and adaptability.
