U.S. M8A1 Universal Military Container and Runway 1/35 ICM-53201

The CH-54 Tarhe heavy-lift helicopter, created in 1962, was designed to transport large military cargo. To improve its transport capabilities, a special container was developed that functioned as a transport capsule, allowing it to carry infantry, wounded or equipment. These containers were equipped with windows, doors and a ramp at the rear, which facilitated the loading of military equipment such as weapons or light off-road vehicles. In addition, they could be used for the deployment of paratroopers. On land, if necessary, these universal containers could be towed on a trailer by military vehicles. In total, 22 containers were built, each with its own unique military registration number.
