The G717 was a truck developed by the American company Chevrolet during the 1930s.
The U.S. Congress, as part of its lend-and-lease policy, loaned a large number of G717s to the Soviets for their fight against the Germans during World War II. These trucks allowed the USSR to improve its motorization levels, which meant an important help to modernize its army. They were used as infantry transport vehicles, artillery haulage, ambulances, telecommunications and even as a base for the rocket launching system, the popular “katyusha”, also called Stalin’s organs were mounted on these trucks.
