M923 “Hillbilly” armed truck ITA-6545

Description

The M923 is a medium truck (5 Tm), which is used today as a logistic transport vehicle by the U.S. Army.

This vehicle entered service in the mid 80’s. Among its most notable features are its robustness and excellent off-road qualities. The A1 version of this truck is characterized by its large tires (which earned it the nickname “big foot”). It participated in the Afghanistan and Iraq campaigns, where its crews added self-made wheel guards to prevent damage caused by enemy small arms.
