The G7107 model of two-axle off-road vehicle, intended for military use, began production by General Motors in the fall of 1941. This all-wheel drive vehicle had a load capacity of 1.5 tons, with a metal cab and a wooden or metal chassis. Most of these vehicles were sent as military aid to the Allies during World War II, with deliveries beginning in 1942. The Red Army received about 47,000 of these vehicles, using them both in combat units and in the rear. Some of these vehicles were captured by German army units during the fighting and were used to transport goods and personnel for Wehrmacht units.
