Description

The Roman trireme was a war vessel used by the ancient Republic and the Roman Empire. It was a galley with three rows of oars, which gave it great speed and maneuverability at sea, the hull was built with wood and reinforced with bronze and iron. Her armament consisted of spurs on the bow and catapults to throw projectiles at a distance. It had a crew of about 200 oarsmen and soldiers.
