This type of vessel was already used during the First World War by the Italians with great success in their fight against the Austro-Hungarians, which led them to continue renewing their fleet of motor torpedo boats.
The 500 series was capable of speeds up to 40 knots (75 km/h) and was equipped with two 450mm torpedoes.
The dimensions of the helmet are 53.8 cm x 13.7 cm.
