The early production Tiger I was one of the most iconic heavy tanks of World War II. Introduced by Germany in 1942, it combined a powerful 88 mm KwK 36 gun with exceptional frontal armor, giving it great superiority over most Allied tanks. Early versions had distinctive features such as intercalated wheels, binocular sight for the commander and a side toolbox. Although its combat performance was remarkable, it suffered from mechanical and mobility problems due to its weight. It was deployed in key fronts such as Leningrad, Tunis and Kursk, generating a great psychological impact.
