The Japanese Type 89 Kou (Late) and Type 95 Ha-Go tanks were instrumental in the campaigns of the Imperial Japanese Army during World War II.
The Type 89 Kou (Late), a medium tank, entered service in the 1930’s. It was armed with a 57 mm gun and had riveted armor. It was used in China and the Pacific, but its limited mobility quickly made it obsolete.
The Type 95 Ha-Go, a more modern light tank, had better speed and was equipped with a 37 mm gun. Although effective against infantry, its weak armor made it vulnerable to enemy anti-tank weapons.
