The Panther tank was developed by Germany as a response to the Soviet T-34 and was produced from 1943 until the end of World War II. Equipped with a 700-horsepower Maybach engine, it featured a sloped armored design and a rear turret mounting a 75 mm L/70 gun. This weapon was surprisingly effective due to its long barrel and high muzzle velocity. Many considered it as powerful as the Tiger I, but easier to manufacture and maintain. The Ausf.G version introduced improvements such as a heater unit and modifications to the mantlet to avoid shell traps.
