The Panther G medium tank, an evolution of the Panther D and A, is considered one of the best tanks of World War II. Developed by Germany, it entered production in March 1944 and remained in service until the end of the war in 1945.
The Panther G stood out for its balance of firepower, protection and mobility. Equipped with a 75 mm KwK 42 L/70 cannon, it was capable of penetrating the armor of most Allied tanks at considerable distances. Its sloping 80 mm frontal armor provided excellent defense against enemy fire.
The Panther G design included several improvements over its predecessors, such as a redesigned turret, an improved exhaust system and a more reliable engine. Despite these advances, the Panther G also suffered from mechanical and production problems due to the pressures of war.
