The Jagdpanzer 38(t) Hetzer was a German light tank destroyer used in World War II. Introduced in 1944, its name Hetzer means “chaser” in German.
Built on the chassis of the Czechoslovakian 38(t) tank, it was notable for its compact design and low profile, which gave it excellent camouflage and agility on the battlefield. Armed with a 75 mm cannon, it proved to be effective against enemy vehicles. Although its production was limited, the Hetzer earned a reputation as an effective and versatile tank destroyer, participating in the later stages of the conflict.
