The Sd.Kfz.173 Jagdpanther was a heavy tank destroyer developed in 1944, based on the excellent Panther chassis. It was equipped with a powerful 88 mm PaK 43/3 gun, capable of piercing any Allied or Soviet armor. Its design included a sloping frontal armor to improve resistance to enemy impacts. Despite its limited production, it participated in combat in Normandy, the Ardennes and the Eastern Front until the end of the war. Its five-man crew operated in a space optimized to carry 57 shells. It was highly effective and feared for its destructive capability.
