Stug III Ausf G initial W/Winterketten Das Werk-16003

Description

The Sturmgeschütz III was a German tank destroyer of World War II. It was based on the Panzer III chassis with the turret replaced by a fixed super structure that mounted, in the G version(Ausf G), a 7.5cm L/48 gun. This version was the most produced in the war with almost 8,000 units produced.

The “Winterketten” were wider chains than those fitted as standard on the Stug III, which allowed the vehicle’s weight to be distributed more efficiently and thus enable it to cross muddy or snow-covered terrain.
