Description

The Stug III Ausf F8 with “Winterketten” was a winter variant of the famous Sturmgeschütz III assault gun used by Germany during World War II. This armored vehicle presented a series of specific characteristics to operate in extreme winter conditions. Winterketten” refers to winter tracks, which provided better grip in snowy and muddy terrain.

The F8 variant was equipped with a 75 mm gun, capable of piercing the armor of most enemy tanks and performing covering fire missions on infantry. The frontal armor of this assault gun was upgraded to 80mm.
