The Triumf S-400 (NATO code SA-21 Growler) is a Russian long- and medium-range anti-aircraft and anti-missile system. It has been developed by the space company Almaz-Antey for the purpose of intercepting flying objects such as fighter jets, drones, strategic cruise and ballistic missiles up to a maximum altitude of 27,000 meters. The system consists of a command post and radar equipment linking up to 6 air defense systems. Each system has multifunctional radar equipment and up to 12 launch tubes with different types of missiles.
The Triumf was built on the basis of the existing C-300 missile system, but has significantly improved tactical and technical capabilities (considering efficiency, link range and target variety). All Triumf anti-aircraft systems are mounted on special off-road capable vehicles.
The S-400 has been in service in Russia since 2007 and has been exported to China, Turkey, Belarus, India, with other countries under negotiation.
