The half-track Sd.Kfz. 251 was one of the most versatile vehicles of the Wehrmacht during World War II. Used on all fronts, it was noted for its maneuverability and adaptability. The version Sd.Kfz. 251/8 Krankenpanzerwagen version served as an armored ambulance, allowing the evacuation of wounded near the front. It could transport up to eight wounded seated or four on a stretcher, equipped with medical equipment for first aid.
