The Hummel was a German self-propelled cannon of the Second World War, its design was based on a hybrid chassis that used parts of the Panzer III and Panzer IV on which was fitted a rigid superstructure that housed a 150mm sFH18/1 howitzer with a capacity to fire bombs of more than 40 kg at effective distances of 13 km.
The first battle in which the Hummel participated was during the offensive on Kursk in 1943.
