Set of 3 sappers and a dog of the Ukrainian armed forces.

Under the motto: “To stay ahead, to save life” sappers of the Ukrainian Armed Forces perform reconnaissance, mine clearance or any kind of engineering support needed on the front line. Sappers are often forced to work ahead of the infantry, being in the forefront of combat operations, as they lead the way, literally and figuratively.

Dogs help sappers find explosive devices. The canine service in the Armed Forces of Ukraine was established in 2017 and, with the outbreak of large-scale hostilities, the need for mine detection dogs has increased several times.
