The Biedka wz. 33 was a light artillery cart designed by Poland in 1933 to transport 81 mm mortars and their ammunition. This trailer was intended to improve the mobility of infantry units in difficult terrain. Made of sturdy steel, the Biedka wz. 33 could be pulled by horses or soldiers, allowing rapid transport of the mortar and its crew in rural areas or battlefields where motorized vehicles could not easily reach. The system was used by the Polish army during the early stages of World War II, in the defense campaign against the German invasion in 1939. In combat, it enabled Polish units to establish mortar positions quickly, providing crucial indirect fire support. However, after the fall of Poland, many of these systems were captured by German forces, who in some cases reused them for their own mortar units.
