Description
The Gotha Go 242 was born from the Luftwaffe’s initiative to develop amphibious transport gliders with greater capacity and payload. This aircraft had the capacity to carry 21 paratroopers and up to 2,400 kg of cargo (its cargo hold was large enough to carry light vehicles and artillery pieces).
The defensive armament of the gliders consisted of 3-4 MG 15 machine guns.
