The Panzer I was a tank manufactured by the Germans and designed for the training of future crews that would fight in World War II. With the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War in 1936, several Panzer I Ausf A were destined to reinforce the National troops. Its first participation would take place during the attacks on Madrid, in support of the infantry, there would become evident its low engine power, lack of armor and inefficient firepower for combat against the T-26 that the Republican side had. The solution found to improve the vehicle was to install the Italian Breda 20mm machine gun in the turret. The test would be carried out on four vehicles withdrawn from the front, to which the turret would be modified to receive this improvement.
