The Panzerkampfwagen V, better known by the nickname Panther was a medium tank used by the Germans during World War II. This tank was built in response to the excellent Russian T-34 and KV-1 tanks that the Wehrmacht faced during the invasion of the USSR from June 1941.
The Panther entered combat for the first time in 1943 during the battle of Kursk, at the beginning, its mechanical complexity and the short time it was in the testing phase caused it to suffer many casualties due to mechanical failures, later these failures were corrected and the Panther proved to be one of the best tanks of the entire Second World War.
