Within the militarization program that Germany undertook during the 1930s in preparation for what would later become World War II, special consideration was given to the motorization of infantry units, for which not only trucks were built but some of them were transformed into buses.
The “Staffwagen” were military personnel buses that had a good part of the seats removed and had been equipped with communications systems: radio, “Enigma” encrypted message machines, etc…
