Due to the transport needs of the German army in the early stages of the conflict (WWII) where the energies were put into the mechanization of the Wehrmacht, some very popular truck chassis (such as the Opel Blitz) were transformed into buses that allowed the transport of officers and military personnel to the front. The Opel 3.6-type 47 was an example of this transport model whose production began in 1939 and reached almost 3,000 units during the conflict.
