The 2A3 “Kondensator” 2P (also called Objekt 271) was a Soviet-made self-propelled gun that mounted a spectacular 406 mm howitzer.
The 2A3 was produced during the 1950s, in the first phase of the Cold War, in response to the Western doctrine of producing tactical artillery capable of delivering nuclear bombs at medium ranges. The operational life of these howitzers was very short because they were soon replaced by missile launchers.
