Tamiya

Description

The De Havilland Mosquito was a multipurpose fighter developed by the British during World War II, its most characteristic quality is that it was made of wood, only the part where the engine was housed and its landing gear were made of metal.
The Mosquito was equipped with two Rolls Royce Merlin engines that allowed it to reach top speeds even higher than those of the Spitfire Mk I and MkII (630 km/h vs. 580 km/h), which gave this aircraft a great potential to be used in different types of missions.
The Mosquito versions represented in this Tamiya model are the MkII Night Fighter armed with 7.7mm machine guns in the nose and the A.I.MkIV Radar. It is also possible to build the MkVI variant armed with 4 bombs of 225kg and 8 rockets, this version was successfully used during the last phases of the Battle of the Atlantic when fighting against German U-boats (submarines).
The Mosquito also actively participated in some battles, such as in Burma, during the Pacific War.
