The De Havilland Mosquito was a twin-engine “all-purpose” (or multipurpose) aircraft developed by the British for use by the RAF (Royal Air Force) during World War II.
The Mosquito was mainly used in fighter missions providing cover for Allied heavy bombers attacking Germany during the second half of the war but was also used as a night fighter and as a ground attack aircraft in the submarine fight or during the invasion of the continent after D-Day.
