Description

The Mitsubishi A6M Zero was the type fighter of the Japanese Imperial Navy throughout the Second World War, during the first years of the conflict the Zero was also the dominator of the Pacific skies where it acquired the fame of invincibility.
In September 1937, during the Sino-Japanese War, the Imperial Navy asked the Mitsubishi company to develop a new fighter that could replace the outdated A5M, the result was the A6M.
On December 7, 1941, 350 Japanese aircraft, including several Zero A6M2b, made a surprise attack on Pearl Harbor Bay, thus starting the War in the Pacific. The A6M2b was powered by a 940 hp Sakae 12 engine, which allowed it to reach top speeds of over 500 km/h, had a range of 3,000 km, and was armed with two 20 mm cannons in the wings and two 7.70 mm machine guns.
Its speed, range and maneuverability made this mythical aircraft one of the most feared and popular of its time.
