Very few modern fighters are as spectacular and attractive to hobby aircraft modelers as the F15 Eagle. Originally designed as a single-seat fighter whose primary mission was to achieve air supremacy, the F15 has proven throughout its operational history to be an excellent aircraft that perfectly combines speed, maneuverability and firepower, which has led to the development of two-seat ground attack models.
The F15 Eagle first entered service in 1976 and remains active today, although the U.S. Army plans its full replacement by the Lockheed Lightning II by 2025.
The F15J is the model that, under license, Mitsubishi builds for the Japanese Self-Defense Forces (JSDF). Today it is still the main fighter of the Japanese Army.
