Israeli main battle tank Merkava Mk 4M (with “SLAT” armored roof) 1/35

The Merkava Mk.4M is the most advanced version of Israel’s main battle tank, the Merkava, and is distinguished by its roof-mounted slat armor.
This armor, also known as“slat armor,” is designed to protect the tank against missile and anti-tank rocket attacks by detonating the explosive charges before they can penetrate the main hull.
The Merkava Mk.4M entered service in the 2010s, incorporating significant improvements in terms of protection, mobility and firepower.
Equipped with the Trophy active defense system, the tank can intercept and destroy incoming shells, increasing its combat survivability.
Its main armament includes a 120 mm smoothbore gun, capable of firing a variety of advanced munitions.
The addition of the roof-mounted grid armor is a direct response to anti-tank guided missile threats from elevated positions.
