The Sherman M4 A3 was the basic battle tank for the Allies during World War II. It was equipped with a Ford GAA3 V8 gasoline engine that gave it a power of 500 hp. In the final versions of the M4A3, the armor was increased to 63 mm at the front and the main weapon was a 75 mm cannon.
However, seeking extra firepower for the assault of fortified positions, by the end of the war the Germans were usually adopting defensive tactics, the standard Sherman M4A3 gun was replaced by the powerful 105 mm Howitzer. The 105 mm Howitzer could fire M1 shells at a range of 11,500 meters. About 500 of these vehicles were built throughout the war.
