In the mid-1970s, the U.S. Army began development of what was to become the M113’s replacement for troop transport. The M2 Bradley was capable of carrying up to 9 soldiers, employed a 600 hp Cummins VTA 903 diesel engine, carried a 25 mm M242 cannon and an anti-tank missile launcher as its main weapon.
This 1/35 Tamiya version reproduces the M2A2 ODS (“Operation Desert Storm”) that went into production in 1996 and incorporated several technological improvements (such as laser sensor or GPS). The M2A2 Bradley was deployed in the 3rd Armored Infantry Division during the Iraq War, a unit that actively participated in the capture of Baghdad.
The Bradley is still active in the U.S. Army.
