Description
The Sherman M4 was the standard medium tank manufactured by the Americans and used by almost all Allied contenders during World War II.
The Sherman was born out of the need for a medium tank that would be effective against German armored forces, the M4A1 was the first version to be mass produced had excellent maneuverability and a fairly efficient 76mm gun. Their weak point was their frontal armor, not sufficient in many cases, so crews often used sacks or other additional protection to gain protection.
