This spectacular model kit by Tamiya reproduces the 40-ton US tank transport truck known as the“Dragon Wagon“.
Even before actively entering the war (starting with the attack on Pearl Harbor on December 7, 1941), the United States had been selling war materiel to the United Kingdom and Russia for some time, so it was well aware of the mobility and logistical challenges that World War II was creating.
Among these challenges was the deployment of tanks at the front or their recovery for repair after the battle. The Dragon Wagon (1943) met these requirements effectively. 1,276 M26A1s were built during the war.
The M-26 was an articulated trailer with 6×6 wheels, 17.48 meters in length and a weight of 26 tons empty, which could be increased to 47 tons loaded. Unladen, it reached a maximum speed of 45 km/h and had a range of 193 km.
This Tamiya kit includes 4 figures, photoetched parts, Vinyl wheels and transparent parts to give a greater realism to the set.
