Description

The Union Army was the armed force that fought for the North in the American Civil War between 1861 and 1865. After 4 years of war, the Unionists (also called Northerners or Federals), under the leadership of prominent figures such as Ulysses S. Grant and William T. Sherman, defeated the Confederate army, ending slavery in the country and consolidating federal power over the states.

Union soldiers wore blue uniforms, consisting of a jacket, pants and hat. Leather boots and gloves were also common. In terms of weapons, he mainly used Springfield or Enfield muskets, both muzzle-loading, which fired lead bullets and also allowed bayonet assault for hand-to-hand combat.
Generally speaking, Union infantry equipment was of higher quality than that of their southern enemies.
