15 white metal figures in each box: 13 soldiers and 2 NCOs. The Republican infantry during the Spanish Civil War distinguished itself for its diversity and determination in the fight against Franco’s side. Composed of an amalgam of volunteers, militia and regular soldiers, it reflected the political and social variety of Spain at the time. Equipped with a mixture of improvised and standard uniforms, diverse and often meager weaponry, these fighters faced difficult conditions on the battlefield. Their bravery and endurance were fundamental in numerous battles throughout the conflict, although they were also marked by a lack of formal training and limited resources.
