Description

The Voltigeurs (Voltigero) was an elite light infantry unit of the French army. They were created by Napoleon in the early 19th century.

Its main mission was to pursue and harass the enemy, in order to wear him down before he entered into combat with the line infantry.

The Voltigeurs were equipped with muskets which could be fitted with bayonets.
