The Mi-24 combat helicopter (NATO code “Hind”) was developed by M.L. Mil’s Experimental Design Bureau in the late 1960s.
The MIL-24V model was introduced into Soviet Army service in 1976 and became the most widespread modification of this helicopter, with over a thousand units built.
Its first combat test was in Afghanistan, where it proved to be a reliable and well-protected machine, effective against enemy troops.
In addition to carrying a variety of bombs and missiles at six anchor points, the Mi-24V is equipped with a heavy 12.7 mm four-barrel YAK-B machine gun mounted in a rotating turret under the forward cabin, where the gunner/operator is located.
Our kit allows to alternatively build the MIL Mi-24VP version, armed with the twin GSH-23L 23 mm cannon.
Both versions of the Mi-24 have participated in numerous conflicts and are still in use in Russia and many countries around the world.
