German Grenadiers 11.Frw. Pz. Gren Div. “Nordland” (Vistula-Oder 1945) 1/35 Dragon-6455

The Nordland Division, part of the foreign volunteer corps of the Waffen-SS, participated in the final battles on the Eastern Front during 1945. Composed mostly of Scandinavian and German volunteers, they fought fiercely in the defense of the Vistula and Oder line against the Soviet advance towards Berlin. Despite their numerical and material inferiority, they offered determined resistance. The battles were intense and marked by extreme cold, shortage of supplies and the collapse of the German front. The Nordland fought with discipline to the end, being one of the last divisions to defend the German capital before the surrender.
