Set of German military police of the Second World War.
The German military police (or Feldgendarmerie, “field gendarmerie”) was founded in the early 19th century and originated from its French counterpart in the Napoleonic armies. Its main task was to ensure the discipline of the soldiers, to maintain public order in the occupied areas and, when necessary, to reinforce the frontline troops.
