Seleucid infantry phalanx. Set 1. 1/72 Linear-A-33

14.90

The Seleucid infantry phalanx was one of the most emblematic units of the Hellenistic armies after the death of Alexander the Great. As part of the Seleucid kingdom, heir to vast territories in Asia, this formation was inspired by the Macedonian phalanx. The soldiers, called phalanxes, carried long spears called sarisas and round shields, advancing in close formation to maintain an impenetrable line against enemy cavalry and infantry. The Seleucid phalanx played a key role in battles such as Rafia (217 BC) against Egypt and Magnesia (190 BC) against Rome, demonstrating their power and endurance in combat.
